Week 4
This weeks lecture was about harmony and unity. Harmony is when the elements of an artwork works together to compliment each other. Some of the ways you can achieve harmony is using colors. Using colors of a same tone can bring an image together very well, Or we can use matching colors that compliment one another. Another is using shapes and aligning them in such a away that everything works. Unity has a similar meaning but differs in its own way. For example a bunch of circles in different sizes but in the same color can be considered united. But if the circles have different color and have the same size also can be considered under unity.
Exercise 4
This exercise, just like last ones is to make an artwork for each principles. we were to use veg stamps or stamping etc. Since it is still MCO I was limited to using some household items. I also used coffee as color to stamp.
Harmony
For this one i wanted to make a sunset through the woods and mountains. I mixed some coffee powder in water to make the color and then i used the base of a mug to make the sun. I printed the mountains using cut up apples.

The idea is that the sun is a circle, supported by the smaller triangle mountains. It is a big symmetrical and the shade of coffee works as harmony.
Unity
I used the base of the mug to make 3 circles of the same size that represent the phases of the moon. the unity works because the circles are the same size, It is in a row and the color is same.
